In the News... Sunset Cliff Farms and Jessica Smith Launch a New Equestrian Program
FOR IMMEDIATE
RELEASE Sunset Cliff Farms is launching a new equestrian program with the help of trainer Jessica Smith. Riders with the desire to develop solid horsemanship skills have the opportunity to learn from Smith in a supportive, relaxed environment. Smith’s goal is to see her students succeed - whether it’s simply improving their horsemanship, winning a blue ribbon for the first time, or continuing a long-standing success in the Grand Prix ring. All levels of riders are welcome at the facility, whether you are just learning or are a seasoned competitor. “We really want to make training at our facility accessible to all levels,” says Smith. “Each individual horse that comes to our farm receives its own customized training program based on the horse’s ability and the goals of its rider. We also have a wide range of lesson times to accommodate clients with different schedules.” The new riding program welcomes riders with their own horse(s) but also includes lessons for individuals who want to ride but don’t yet have a horse. Sunset Cliff Farms offers retired show horses and school masters to riders who want to develop their skills and attend shows. Sunset Cliff Farms provides an excellent foundation for riders and horses of the hunter, jumper and equitation disciplines. Recently appointed as head trainer at Sunset Cliff Farms, Smith returned to Texas after spending the 2011 show season riding with Olympian Anne Kursinski. Smith’s career began in Michigan where she worked as Tim Wright’s assistant at Waverly Farm. While there, she piloted several horses to year-end awards and championships from Pre-Green to Open Jumper. Smith has also received instruction from renowned trainers Polly Howard, Wendy Murdock and Tim Grubb. From reining to classical dressage, Smith’s had the opportunity to study various training techniques. About the facility, Smith says, “I am fortunate to be able to work out of this top rate facility. There is nothing like this in the surrounding area and together we can provide the highest quality care and training.” She is excited to work with equestrian enthusiasts of all ages and abilities. Situated in Burnet, Texas, just NW of Austin, Sunset Cliff Farms offers an escape for both equestrians and horses. With a focus on first class boarding and training for the discriminating equestrian, riders enjoy the following features:
